Print task 4 Publishing & Editorial

Moulded plastic cover
This plastic moulded cover produces a 3D effect on the outside of the book. The simplicity of the design is made good by using the 3D mould. The colour scheme also plays upon using the text and emphasising it.

Board substrate with embossed broderie pattern and bronze foil stamped text

Silver Foil block title
The cover layout of this magazine is very minimal, the foil printed title gives it a clear focal point against the image. The foil also works well with the actual context of the magazine.

Text reversed out of a pearlescent varnish
This is type of printing technique used in this way allows you to concentrate on the stock an aspect of the design which i really like. The UV varnish sits on the page well and the gloss of the varnish just add's to the stock. The only worry is that the readability of the text can go down if the typeface doesnt work with the stock and varnish.
