The article i chose was "Big rise in number of drunken children in A&E" a link to my news paper article can be found by clicking here. My article talks about children getting themselves into hospital by drinking too much and how especially girls are even more likely to be admitted.

"I think its the exciting element of breaking the rules that attracts most underage drinkers. Therefore there aren't too many ways to prevent this apart from lowering the age limit which would most likely backfire severely. Maybe making alcohol harder to buy and pushing up the prices in local stores would contribute well to the problem but overall it is a tricky one. We are living in a country known for its drinking culture so i feel some of the blame lies with the older generation; the parents; the adults. If they don't make the serious effort to change, then chances are the youth will follow and the cycle continues."

Hofstede is a deign company based in australia, what interested me is there use of typography to communicate a brand identity and the minimal nature of their design.

Erin Hanson

Erin Hanson's questions what we want and what we need. The imagery used is simple and effective with basic type to explain it. I like his work because it makes me realise i dont need half the things i have.

Saks fifth Avenue

These designs have been done by Pentagram Design for Saks fifth avenue, i like how the typography is really fluid and how they have designed the bags by using enlarged parts of the logo. The Black and white works well together.

Forgotten Hopes

The only link i could find to this piece of work was the website which is Forgotten Hopes. What attracted me to this piece is the interesting layout and the soft colour tones laid over the black brushwork background. The typography used is also interesting and fits in well with the background brush marks.

I like the simplicity and the hand drawn aspects of the name tags, it makes it look very authentic.

Soulellis Studio is a design firm specializing in brand identity and communications. I especailly like the colour and simplicity of the type used.

Sam approached Manual to create a bespoke personal identity and website with the specific request for us to create a custom-monogram. These are limited packaging for a album called "Small craft on a milk Sea" it was done by Nick Robertson. I like this packaging as it is so simple by design and the colour range used works really well together.
